Copper Silver Ionization Water Treatment

About CSI
Who We Are
Copper-silver ionization, also known as silver ionization, is a well-known disinfection method, primarily utilized to control Legionella, the pathogen responsible for Legionnaires' infection. There's strong evidence that cleaning water sources in public institutions with this method lowers the risk of Legionnaires' infection. This method kills micro-organisms through an electro-deposition process that utilizes the effect of negative charges on the microorganisms' surfaces. It is an inexpensive way of reducing the risk of outbreaks of Legionnaires' disease and other waterborne diseases.

Legionella Water Treatment

Legionella Water Treatment is an effective treatment for persons who have been exposed to contaminated water, whether it is from a municipal source like a municipal supply or well. If the contaminated water supply is not aerated, like through a shower or a whirlpool, spinning shower, cooling tower or hot water aerator, this will lead to an aerosol containing legionellae, a bacterium resistant to disinfection. If the aerosol particles are inhaled, then mild infections with clinical manifestations similar to acute infections with fever, chills and other related symptoms may occur, which tend to subside quickly without the need for medical treatment. However, if the person is exposed to more than just one contaminant, or if the exposure period is prolonged, the individual may require medical intervention to prevent the spreading of legionnaires' disease.
